I really like the look of the IdeaPad Y series though. I can see two things potentially being an issue though - the driver that came installed on my computer wouldn't have anything written in it for the pointing stick (I'm not sure if everything would work properly if I installed the driver for the computer whose keyboard I swapped in), and if different/extra wiring for the keyboard is needed to properly read the pointing stick, it wouldn't be I know that IBMs/Lenovos are quality laptops, but I just haven't really liked the ones I've used due to a few distinctive physical features - how the edges are sharp and come out farther than they need to (the screen is 'indented'), the extra mouse buttons above the touch pad, the loudness of either set of mouse buttons, the pointing stick's inability to click like it could on my Inspiron, and the awkward and differently-colored hinges.
I would need the pointing stick keyboard to be from a laptop of the same brand as the one I get, right? I'm not 100% sure as to what exactly a 'notebook' is (Wikipedia's 'Laptop' article just uses the word 'notebook' as a synonym for 'laptop'), but I don't want a tablet, netbook, desktop replacement, or rugged laptop, so I guess a notebook is all that's left :p. Really? I didn't know laptop keyboards were that interchangable.
